Simple Math: If you do More Work, you should be Paid More
More work = more money.
Well, it should... and that should always be the case!
But I know it's too easy to dismiss sending that updated invoice to the client... especially when the problem was out of their control and your control!
BUT - how many times have you done this?
Stretched and flexed at your own personal expense for the sake of your client? And I get it, sometimes that really happens -> but it's why you need to build buffer into your pricing from day 1.
And this is also why boundaries are important: the client is paying you for a service or job. When you deliver that, everything else should be an a la carte service or on a commission basis.
And yes, things out of your control suck, but your time is valuable too. And if the client wants you to help resolve it, then charge for it (or know there's buffer, because projects like to go a little wonky)!
